DISCOVERIES IN FLORIDA....

Every winter I make the trek from my Wintery Northern home to our Sunny Southern Florida home to get away from the cold and the snow to the wonderful heat and Palm trees. This year it rained for over a week so we all decided to visit some Antique shows and Flea Markets to wait out the rain in anticipation of the sun. I make a yearly visit to the West Palm Beach Antiques Show which is huge and wonderful. This year it was twice the size as it was the previous visit...about 4 large buildings and many, many vendors outside. It took a whole day to barely see it all as we rushed through many booths. To make a long story short, I came across many Antique Toy Sellers this year and was like a "kid in a Candy Shop" in awe of all these wonderful creations. I especially admired one particular booth that had the most Pristine collection of antique German Holiday Collectibles I have every seen "in person". The wonderful shop owners let me look and touch these amazing creations....I swear I had heart palpitations when I held the Halloween pieces. I've been in a bit of an artistic "funk" lately but these pieces made me rethink my own "folk art" artist creations and inspired me to have more creative aspirations. I was in awe of the detail and expressions of these pieces...and definitely the price tag! I have my eye on one particular German Black Cat Candy Container that has consumed my thoughts....so I better get creating some of my own pieces so I can afford that price tag!!!
