COLLECTION OF VINTAGE SUPPLIES....

New Creations starting Jan.23rd on ETSY....
I enjoy hunting for all the vintage supplies that I use in my creations. It is important to me that they are authentic items from the past. I like the history that each item brings to my new creations....it gives it a "Story"! I love the antique celluloid deer that I have been collecting and I can not wait to see what they turn into. I think I got a little carried away with the quantity but just couldn't help myself as they are so "sweet".... watch my ETSY shop to see what they become!!!

A WONDERFUL BOX OF TREATS...

Today was a horrible winter day....it was a complete blizzard and I had to drive into the city. I had an appointment at a friends Salon that I didn't want to cancel....
We always chat and she has told me in the past that she makes cookies. Being an Artist and a Baker....I am always interested in hearing about other peoples talents in the sweets department.
To my delight, there was a white bakery box tied with a grey satin ribbon awaiting my arrival today. As I sat and waited during my 2 hour appointment I was curious about what kind of cookies were in the box and were her talents going to be what I expected?
I drove the 45 minute trek home in the blowing snow. By the time I got home my nerves were frazzled and my head was pounding....and by then I had forgot about that white box of baked goodness.

WOW....when I opened the box I was completely surprised to see a menagerie of animals perfectly done up in all there royal icing finery! In being an Artist I am always the one giving the handmade creation. It was a great treat to receive a handmade gift that was so expertly done with care and precision in its creation. They were not only beautiful but smelled wonderful too!

I so did not want to eat them but to preserve
them in all there sugary beauty.....
but hey, I had a stressful morning ....
ooops....things happen...that one must
have broke...
Thanks Amber, they were EXCEPTIONAL..
